Job Summary:

The Tours Consultant will be responsible for managing client inquiries, preparing customized travel itineraries for both Inbound and outbound tours, handling reservations, and coordinating with suppliers to deliver seamless travel experiences. This role requires strong destination knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining high service standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Travel Requirements

  • Strong understanding of travel procedures and industry standards.
  • Ability to manage travel logistics efficiently.
  • Strong understanding of VISA requirements

2. Knowledge of Destinations

  • Familiarity with major local and international destinations.
  • Understanding of key attractions, travel seasons, and accommodation options.

3. Knowledge of Reservation Systems

  • Practical experience with online platforms.
  • Ability to search, compare, and book services using these systems.

4. Ability to Prepare Proposals

  • Skilled in preparing professional travel proposals tailored to client needs.
  • Capable of providing clear pricing, inclusions, and exclusions.

5. Designing Itineraries (Local and International)

  • Ability to create well-structured itineraries for diverse destinations.
  • Strong attention to detail regarding time, distance, and logistics.

6. Handling Safari, Beach, and Adventure Packages

  • Experience managing safari packages, beach holidays, and adventure tours.
  • Knowledge of relevant destinations, operators, and requirements.

7. Working with DMCs and Suppliers

  • Ability to coordinate with hotels, transfer companies, and activity providers.
  • Skilled in maintaining strong relationships with partners.

8. Basic Information on Visa & Travel Insurance

  • Understanding of general visa requirements for popular destinations.
  • Basic knowledge of travel insurance options and benefits.

9. Ability in Converting Bookings

  • Proven skill in turning inquiries into confirmed bookings.
  • Strong follow-up and client engagement abilities.

10. Excellent Communication Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients and suppliers.

11. Understanding Client Needs

  • Ability to listen and interpret client preferences.
  • Skilled in customizing itineraries based on individual or group requirements.

12. Negotiation Skills

  • Ability to negotiate rates and value-added services with hotels and suppliers.

13. End-to-End Booking Management

  • Capable of handling the full booking cycle: inquiry, quotation, confirmation, payment processing, and travel support.

14. Ability to Work Under Pressure

  • Comfortable handling last-minute changes and urgent bookings.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.

15. Experience with Corporate Travel Accounts

  • Experience managing corporate client travel needs.
  • Understanding of corporate policies, approval processes, and billing procedures.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Travel & Tourism, Hospitality, or related field.
  • Experience in travel consultancy or reservations is an added advantage.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in online booking systems
  • Ability to book Air tickets via accessing GDS systems is a PLUS
