Department: Workshop

Reports To: Workshop Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Workshop Helper will provide hands-on support to mechanics and other technical personnel during the servicing, maintenance, and repair of tractors, vehicles, and heavy machinery. The role will assist with basic workshop activities while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist mechanics and technicians during equipment servicing, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Support the removal, cleaning, handling, and installation of mechanical components.
  • Clean tools, equipment, machinery parts, and workshop work areas.
  • Assist with lubrication, tyre handling, and other basic maintenance tasks as directed.
  • Move tools, spare parts, and materials safely within the workshop.
  • Report damaged tools, unsafe conditions, or equipment issues to the Workshop Supervisor.
  • Follow workshop safety procedures and correctly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Form Four education or relevant vocational/technical training in mechanics, automotive, or a related trade.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant workshop, mechanical, automotive, or heavy-equipment experience is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of workshop tools and mechanical activities.
  • Physically fit and able to perform practical workshop duties.
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions from mechanics and supervisors.
  • Good teamwork, discipline, reliability, and safety awareness.
  • Experience in an agricultural, automotive, construction, or heavy-machinery workshop will be an added advantage.
