Reports To: Workshop Supervisor
Job Summary:
The Welder/Fabricator will carry out welding, fabrication, repair, and modification works on agricultural machinery, heavy equipment, vehicles, and workshop structures. The role will support reliable equipment operations by producing strong, accurate, and safe welded components and repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform welding and fabrication works on tractors, heavy machinery, agricultural equipment, and workshop structures.
- Cut, shape, join, and assemble metal components according to required measurements and specifications.
- Repair cracked, broken, or worn equipment components and metal structures.
- Fabricate brackets, supports, guards, frames, and other components required for workshop and field operations.
- Inspect completed welds and fabricated components to ensure quality and structural integrity.
- Operate welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication equipment safely.
- Maintain welding tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Follow workshop safety procedures and correctly use appropriate PPE.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Trade Certificate, VETA Certificate, or Diploma in Welding & Fabrication, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on welding and fabrication experience, preferably involving heavy machinery, agricultural equipment, or industrial operations.
- Practical experience in arc welding, MIG/TIG welding, gas cutting, and metal fabrication as applicable.
- Ability to interpret measurements, technical drawings, and fabrication specifications.
- Good knowledge of different metals, welding techniques, and fabrication tools.
- Strong attention to welding quality, accuracy, and workplace safety.
- Experience in agricultural, construction, automotive, or heavy-equipment workshops will be an added advantage.
