High-Pressure Welder

Reports To: Senior Irrigation Engineer
Job Summary:
The High-Pressure Welder will be responsible for welding and fabrication works on high-pressure water-conveyance pipelines and irrigation infrastructure. The role will focus on producing quality pressure-rated welds, repairing existing pipeline joints and structures, and supporting the installation of new irrigation pipeline sections while maintaining required safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out welding and fabrication works on high-pressure water-conveyance pipelines and irrigation infrastructure.
- Produce quality welds on steel/pressure-pipe joints, fittings, and support structures, meeting the required pressure rating.
- Inspect and repair existing welded joints and structures as part of ongoing maintenance.
- Work closely with the Pipe Fitter and Senior Irrigation Engineer during installation of new pipeline sections.
- Ensure all welding work complies with relevant safety and quality standards, including pressure-testing requirements.
- Maintain welding equipment and ensure the safe use of welding gases and electrical equipment.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Certified Welder with relevant pressure-pipe welding certification.
- Trade Certificate in Welding/Fabrication.
- 3–5 years of experience in high-pressure pipe welding, ideally on water-conveyance or industrial piping systems.
- Strong knowledge of high-pressure pipe welding techniques, including arc, TIG, and MIG as applicable.
- Working knowledge of pipefitting.
- Strong safety discipline and ability to follow required welding and pressure-testing standards.
