Reports To: Senior Irrigation Engineer

Job Summary:

The Plumber will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of larger-diameter water pipes used for bulk water supply and irrigation distribution. The role will focus on ensuring large-diameter pipeline installations are properly joined, aligned, secured, tested, and maintained to support reliable water distribution across the irrigation system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain larger-diameter water pipes for bulk water supply and irrigation distribution.
  • Join, align, and secure large-diameter pipe sections, including HDPE, PVC, and steel, using appropriate techniques and fittings.
  • Carry out pressure testing and leak detection on installed pipework.
  • Coordinate with the Pipe Fitter and Senior Irrigation Engineer on the overall layout of the water-distribution network.
  • Perform routine inspection and repair of existing large-diameter pipe installations.
  • Maintain a safe worksite in line with health and safety guidelines during installation works.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Trade Certificate in Plumbing or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of plumbing experience, with specific experience handling larger-diameter pipe installation for bulk water-supply lines.
  • Practical knowledge of large-diameter pipe jointing techniques, including welding, fusion, and mechanical coupling as applicable.
  • Strong leak-diagnosis and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret pipeline layouts.
  • Good understanding of safe working practices during large-diameter pipeline installation and maintenance.
